Claudia Olendrowicz was born in Königs Wusterhausen,
Germany, in 1983. She graduated from the Bauhaus in
Weimar in 2008. She lives and works in Berlin. Solo
exhibitions include: Cottbusser Tor, Vesselroom Project, Berlin
2014; Irish Spring, 126 Artist-Run Gallery, Galway 2013;
Irrgäste, Interno4, Bologna 2012. Group shows: Air Berlin,
Villa Heike, Berlin 2020; Function. Anomy, Rathaus-Galerie
Reinickendorf, Berlin 2019; Intramoenia. New aspects of art in
Basilicata, Museo Provinciale, Potenza 2017; Eine Enzyklopädie
des Zarten, Wunderkammer Schlossmuseum, Weimar 2015. In
2013, with Bruno Di Lecce, she was invited to take part in the
residency programme of Frankfurter Kunstverein in Frankfurt
am Main.
Olendrowicz’s work uses materials, especially those that are
artificial or processed by industry, as witnesses to the specific
relationship that modern man builds with his context. Among
these, those that usually come into contact with our skin:
sponges, soap, fabrics, which tell of the body’s permeability,
transformability and vulnerability.
