Musical and ambiguous forms, materials out of time but irrevocably imbued with the colors of the Mediterranean lands. The underlying concept of his work is rooted in nature and landscape, with ancestral and archetypal memories. His search for an essence is conducted on the one hand through the intellectual abstraction of form and on the other through the radicality of experience with the most basic materials.

Martino Antocchi, 1987, is a ceramist, sculptor and engraver and has his atelier in Cori, province of Latina. He attended the school of high specialization in the art of the medal of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato. The core concept of his work is rooted in nature and landscape, with ancestral and archetypal memories. His search for an essence is conducted on the one hand through the intellectual abstraction of form and on the other through the radicality of experience with the most basic materials. The local clay, specifically, is the one that most of all, because of its ability to preserve the sign, can be a witness to the action of man who transforms the natural environment into landscape. He sees his participation in the prize as a kind of ritual “return”” to his Arbëreshë origins, precisely from the territory of Vulture (North of Basilicata region), where his grandparents came from.
